LOOK FOR A SPECIAL MESSAGE UNDER FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW
CONCERNING PUPPY MILLS!
"How
Could You?" Copyright Jim Willis 2001
" The greatness of a nation in its moral progress can
be judged by the way people treat animals" -Gandhi
Tails
End Farm, the "no kill" refuge for unwanted, abused and abandoned
dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, cows, and other animals. We hope you will bookmark
our site and visit often - we will constantly be changing it and adding to it -
be sure to check our “Adopt A Friend” page specifically for the "animals
for adoption" - so if you are considering a pet or a farm animal, consider
one of our "refugee's" - could be just what you are looking for! Now,
enjoy the site!
An
incredible number of things have happened over the past year. We've been
granted funding for two wonderful vans to transport the animals to and from the
vet's and the adoption centers. These vehicles have been a great asset to our
operation. We've heated a portion of the barn to help accommodate some dogs and
cats. This facility has enabled us to remove the cages from our kitchens and
kids' bedrooms!! We had the amazing experience (Thanks to Christina Follensbee)
of being directly involved in a Premarin foal rescue from Canada. See Facts You
Should Know!. Speaking for all of us here at the shelter to all of the friends
and supporters of the animals at Tail's End (and those yet to come), we extend
the most heartfelt THANK YOU! We cannot succeed without you. We've seen
volunteers come and go and we are greatly appreciative to each and every one
for your support and help of every kinds. The animals directly benefit from
your efforts. In 1999, we found homes for almost 200 dogs, 300 cats and 35 farm
animals. Look for a huge increase this year.
May
Peace and Happiness be yours!
George & Sue Dillon
OUR MISSION
"This shelter is
dedicated to the end of unnecessary euthanasia as a means of controlling the
unwanted pet overpopulation and to protect all animals from abuse and
suffering. We focus on education at grade school level of the importance of
spay / neuter and responsible pet ownership as a means to reaching these goals.
We operate an aggressive adoption center. We have a cruelty officer on
staff."
PETS FOR
ADOPTION..... NOT "Animals for Sale!"
More and more we see that there are
many pet stores in our local area that do not sell cats or dogs. These
merchants have instead adopted a much more humane and community minded outlook.
That of helping shelters to find homes for the many homeless pets. To these pet
stores, we say "WAY TO GO!" To our readers and supporters we
urge you to patronize these facilities and express your support for their
efforts. This activity will help in several ways to end unnecessary euthanasia
as a means to controlling the pet overpopulation. And, as always, you too can
do a part to end euthanasia as a means to controlling the overpopulation of
pets............

care and welfare to use the web more efficiently in support of the work they
are involved in. The main feature of the site is an online resources
locator that individuals can use to find assistance for 10 different
pet-related areas by selecting the area of interest and searching by zip code
to find resources closest to them. The Resource Locator is free to users as
well as listing eligible organizations. Petworking.com also offers a free
online discussion area for anyone interested or involved in the areas
Petworking.com is involved with. Members also get opt-in email lists for their
groups and supporters, an online database for listing pets or items of interest
to users of the site as well as fund raising assistance through numerous
programs made available through the website.
